    LinkedIn

Dave is a five-time founder involved in more than 15 transactions — as founder, operator, board member, and advisor — with exits including License Online (sold to SNX) and Classmates.com (board member, sold to United Online). He's the author of Trajectory: Startup, built on research into 2,564 funded companies and the revenue models behind their growth. Dave chaired startup programs at the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA), where he launched the Trajectory Series and Founder Cohort Program, and he's been a top-ranked mentor for Techstars, 500 Startups, Founder Institute, and accelerators from Brazil to Budapest. Today he's building GetTrajectory.com to help founders across the full lifecycle — from ideation to a well-run exit. On the sell side, he coaches founders to get buyer-ready before they ever take a meeting.

    LinkedIn

T.A. is a five-time founder with three exits and a Managing Director at Pioneer Square Labs (PSL), the Seattle startup studio and venture firm that has created more than 45 companies and invested in 25 more. He founded and sold Gist (to BlackBerry, where he became VP of Product Strategy), co-founded Rival IQ (acquired by NetBase Quid), and co-founded Senosis (acquired by Google), and has sold numerous companies as a board member during his time at PSL. He's an active angel investor and board member across productivity, health, and enterprise software, a longtime Techstars mentor, and a member of the Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship board at the University of Washington. A two-time America's Cup sailor, T.A. brings the same rigor to helping founders read buyers, sharpen their narrative, and run a disciplined process toward the outcome they want.

    What You Will Take Home

Leave M&A Camp with practical tools and a clear plan for your exit. Through hands-on working sessions, live coaching from Dave and T.A., and peer feedback, you’ll develop these five takeaways.

    Buyer Identification

Build a ranked target list of companies with strategic, financial, and product roadmap reasons to acquire your business. Look beyond the obvious names to identify buyers who could see premium value in what you’ve built. Pressure-test each target for fit, timing, and ability to close.

    Org Chart Mapping

Map the decision-making path within your priority buyers, including the champion, economic buyer, corporate development team, business-unit sponsor, and potential blockers. Identify warm introductions and plan whom to approach, in what order, and with what message. Leave with a relationship map to guide your outreach.

    Strategic Narrative Practice

Develop and rehearse a clear answer to “Why us, why now?” Connect your company’s strengths and roadmap to the buyer’s priorities and build-or-buy decision. With live coaching and peer feedback, sharpen your story so you can explain the strategic value of an acquisition in your first buyer conversations.

    Quality of Exit Self-Assessment

Evaluate your company’s readiness using the Quality of Exit score. Identify the strengths that support your exit goals and the gaps that need attention before buyer conversations begin. Use the assessment to prioritize your preparation and focus your time on the improvements that matter most.

Data Room Staging & Action Items

Outline your data room and begin organizing the materials buyers will need to evaluate your business. Identify missing information, preparation gaps, and questions to address before diligence. Leave with a practical action list, clear priorities, and next steps for continuing the work after camp.

    Exit Readiness Assessment (ERA)

See your company the way a buyer will — before you go to market.

Most owners walk into a sale having never seen their business through a buyer's eyes. The Exit Readiness Assessment gives you that view early — when you still have time to act on it. An operator who's been through an exit runs your company through the same nine factors a buyer diligences, shows you where you're strong and where you're exposed, and hands you a prioritized plan to fix the gaps before they cost you at the table.

What it is — and isn't.

The ERA is a seller-side readiness review — a rehearsal for diligence, delivered by someone who's sat in your seat. It's not a valuation or a legal opinion; it's the honest, buyer's-lens picture that tells you whether you're ready, what to fix first, and roughly when you should go.
